Calla Kinglit is a musician, composer, music producer and film artist who draws inspiration from the awe of wilderness and exploring the human experience. She writes and produces a wide range of music; from melodic indie singer-songwriter, to textural contemporary electro-acoustic music, to film scores and film sound. She is currently studying music composition and film making at Simon Fraser University and working in both industries in the Yukon. She debuted her fist short film ‘Glow’ at the Available Light Film Festival and the Dawson City International Short Film Festival in 2021.
In 2018, she released her debut album comprised of songs written while living as a researcher in the Congo Basin in the Central African country of Cameroon, exploring the vast and redemptive beauty of her home base in Canada’s Yukon wilderness, manoeuvring through landslides in the Himalayas, and contemplating the spiritual journey of one small being.
